Who we are
This policy explains what the Astrix launcher and the Astrix servers collect when you use Astrix, why, and what you can do about it. "We" means the Project Astrix staff.
Your account
- your username, email address and Discord ID, from when you made your account
- your password, which our servers only keep as a one-way hash that can't be turned back into your password
On your PC
The launcher keeps its settings, your Fortnite folder and your login in %APPDATA%\gg.astrix.launcher. Your saved password is encrypted with Windows' own protection, so only your Windows account can read it. Nothing in that folder is sent to us apart from your login when you sign in.
Your PC's hardware ID
To enforce bans, the launcher works out a hardware ID from your motherboard's ID, your Windows installation's ID and your system drive's serial number. Each one is scrambled (hashed) on your PC before it's sent, so we never see the real values. We keep the hashed IDs with your account and only use them to stop banned players coming back on new accounts.
Astrix Anticheat
While the game is running, Astrix Anticheat checks:
- the names of the programs running on your PC, and the product names inside them, for known cheat and debugging tools
- the files (DLLs) loaded into Fortnite, and the game's memory for hidden code
- whether a debugger is attached to the game or the launcher
When you press Verify, the launcher also checks that your Fortnite files are the original ones.
If it closes the game, it sends us the reason, such as the name of the program it found. It also sends us the location of any file loaded into the game that it doesn't recognise. It doesn't look at your documents, photos, browser, messages, screen or keyboard, and it stops when the game closes. Every 20 seconds while you play, it tells our servers it's running; that's how the servers know you're protected.
When you play
- your matches: kills, wins, eliminations and the modes you play
- your items, locker, battle pass and Arena progress
- your friends, party and online status, so friends and parties work
- your IP address, which our servers see when you connect (it's needed to send you the game) and use to limit spam
Reports and voice chat
If you report a player in game, the report (who, why, what you wrote and which match) is sent to our staff in the Discord.
Voice chat is carried by Vivox. Our servers only hand out the passes that let you into your own party's and team's channels. We never record, store or listen to voice chat.
How we use it
We use this information to run your account and the servers, give you your rewards, keep matches fair (anticheat, reports and bans) and help you when you ask for support. We don't sell it, we don't use it for ads, and we only share it with the services Astrix runs on (our server host and Discord) as far as they need it.
How long it's kept
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Anticheat reports and ban records, including hashed hardware IDs, are kept for as long as they're needed to keep bans in place.
Your choices
You can ask us in the Discord for a copy of your data, or to delete your account and its data. Deleting an account doesn't lift a ban. Signing out removes your login from your PC, and you can delete the %APPDATA%\gg.astrix.launcher folder at any time.
Children
Astrix isn't meant for anyone under 13. If you think a child under 13 has an account, tell us in the Discord and we'll remove it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy. The latest version is always in the launcher under Settings. Questions go to our Discord: discord.gg/astrixfn.
