About Astrix

Project Astrix is a free, fan-made community project that lets you play Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 8 (version 8.51) on community-run servers. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Epic Games. Fortnite and everything in it belong to Epic Games, Inc.

By using the Astrix launcher, the Astrix servers or the Astrix Discord, you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you don't accept them, don't use Astrix.

Your account

Accounts are made in the Astrix Discord with /create. Keep your login to yourself: you're responsible for everything done with your account. Don't sell, trade or share accounts.

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough where you live to use online games and Discord.

Your game files

Astrix doesn't give out Fortnite. You use your own copy of the 8.51 build. The launcher checks that it's the original, unmodified game, and adds Astrix's own files when it starts the game so it connects to our servers.

Playing fair

When you play on Astrix you agree not to:

Astrix Anticheat

Astrix Anticheat starts with the game and runs for as long as it's open. It looks for cheat and debugging tools on your PC and for code loaded into the game that shouldn't be there. If it finds any, it closes the game and tells our staff why. You can only join matches while it's running. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what it looks at.

Bans

We can warn, suspend or ban any account that breaks these terms. A ban can cover your PC as well as your account (a hardware ban): every account used on that PC is then refused, and the launcher shows "You are banned from playing Astrix". If you think a ban is a mistake, open a ticket in the Discord.

Items and Astrix+

Cosmetics, battle pass tiers, Arena Hype and anything else you earn or get on Astrix have no real-world value. They can't be sold, traded or exchanged for money, and we may change, reset or remove them, for example when a season is reset.

Astrix+ is optional and helps pay for the servers. It's paid through Stripe from the launcher's Astrix+ page, and it's added to your account by hand within 24 hours. If it hasn't arrived by then, make a ticket in our Discord. Astrix+ doesn't buy anything from Epic Games.

Settings that change your PC

Some launcher settings make changes on your PC, such as adding Astrix to Windows Defender's exclusions, lowering the game's graphics with Performance mode, or switching your screen to a stretched resolution while the game runs. They stay off until you turn them on, and Windows asks for your permission where it needs to.

No guarantees

Astrix is run by volunteers and is provided as it is. The servers can go down, progress can be lost, and features can change or stop at any time. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for any loss or damage that comes from using Astrix.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The latest version is always in the launcher under Settings. If you keep using Astrix after a change, you accept the new terms.
